Chiropracticunder other names and various techniques has been
practiced for many centuries by every culture. Its modern
day incarnation was founded in 1895 by a Canadian man living
in Davenport Iowa. Since then, modern day "bone setting"
has evolved into a formal profession. Chiropractors now
must qualify for a formal national exam after many years
of study at an accredited institution with background in
anatomy, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology and x ray,
amongst many others.
While chiropractic is most widely known for assisting recovery
from neck and back pain, chiropractors are trained to adjust
every joint in the body. Chiropractors are trained to treat
and adjust ankles knees, fingers wrists, even jaws.
For those suffering with
back pain that come to my office, I have a table that stretches
out the lower back.
