Acupuncture

I hate needles!

I can't tell you how often I hear that. For those who have tried acupuncture needles for their health, the story gets changed. For the manifest relief the needles bring, the slight discomfort becomes a welcome respite as pain and symptoms ease away.

Used in the east for many centuries, the philosophy of Chinese Medicine has finally been well translated and taught to westerners.

How acupuncture works is a question I'm often asked. The Chinese would say that over and above the skeletal, muscle, organ and nervous system, there exists a meridian system that flows through the body like electrical wiring. In Chinese Medical philosophy disruption of the electrical system, be it through trauma, poor diet, excess stress or bodily changes due to aging, leads to disease and ill health. By using fine needles at exact sites the body's wiring can be altered to effect positive changes in physiology, resulting in improved health and decreased pain.

This is acupuncture.

Acupuncture is for a long list of conditions, or "patterns" as the Chinese would say:

  • Headaches
  • Sinuses
  • TMJ pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Chest pain
  • Hiatal hernia
  • Stomach problems (IBS, Crohn's)
  • Liver and gall bladder problems
  • Diarrhea
  • Urinary problems
  • Kidney problems
  • Leg pain
  • Foot pain
  • and more.
